Joe Englehart’s interest in aviation began in childhood. Growing up under the approach path to SeaTac, he was often found eyes to the sky. In college, he delved into pursuits not just as a pilot, but also as a mechanic, developing a deep understanding of systems and operations vital to his work in aviation. Now, with over a decade of experience in the industry, Joe has accumulated thousands of hours working as a flight instructor, ferrying aircraft across the country, flying fire recon for the U.S. Forest Service, and more.

He also uses his diverse skills to volunteer with his local EAA chapter supporting community and youth involvement in aviation and mentoring new pilots. Additionally, he contributes time to the Everything Life Saving Foundation, flying disaster relief and medical transport missions. You can often find Joe at Oshkosh, Sun ’n Fun, High Sierra, and on the National STOL circuit.

When not traveling, Joe enjoys splitting flight time with his pilot wife and taking advantage of their close proximity to the Idaho backcountry and a shared love of aircraft camping with their Cessna 120. He is also enjoying his first exploration into aircraft building with a Van’s RV-7 project.

Joe takes pride in helping others find the right aircraft to fit their mission, drawing on his broad experience across flying, maintenance, and ownership to match each pilot with the airplane that feels like home.
